The annual Hillman Cancer Center Gala transforms the arena floor and lobbies of PPG Paints Arena (home to the Pittsburgh Penguins) into a formal dinner party for nearly one-thousand guests featuring musical entertainment and keynote speakers. The 2019 event, Illuminated by Hope, featured a design inspired by pop art and was headlined by Chris Botti. The design focused on color and repeating shapes create a bright and eye catching decor to transform the utilitarian venue into a one-time-only event.
